BTC presents the UK Premiere of

good friday by Kristiana Rae Colón

Synopsis

Cast

In academia’s hallowed halls, five women debate millennial feminism when gunshots shatter the safety of their discourse. As tweets stream across the campus feed, the body count grows. And then the shooter enters the classroom. At the intersection of gun violence, sexual violence, and slacktivism, in a #yesallwomen world, what is the real cost of revolution?

Production

good friday was directed by Alex Romberg, and was part of ManiFest, a festival of seven East 15 MFA Directors' final productions. The all female cast included graduates and current students from the Master's Acting, MFA International Acting, and Contemporary Theatre programs, hailing from the US, UK, Australia, and Honduras. The festival featured pieces by Bertolt Brecht, David Ives, and  Eugene Ionesco, and contemporary pieces from China. Performances of good friday followed The Monk and the Lotus, a Chinese opera directed by Shiru Wang, which played as part of Grimeborn at the Arcola in 2017.
